Facing the enormity of living with a life threatening illness can feel extremely lonely. Often we feel unable to really talk with those closest to us for fear of adding more to their burden. We feel we must protect them from our fears but often in doing so we end up preventing each other from discussing what frightens us most and this can lead to terrible solitude and helplessness for all concerned.
It is also easy to think too much about yourself and your illness and be unable to think ahead or feel any motivation or sense of purpose about the future.
- Coaching provides a safe supportive environment to help you understand your conscious and unconscious thoughts and shows you how to make the emotional shift from feeling vulnerable and helpless to being back in control of your life, feeling energised and confident.
- It will help you focus on not what’s wrong with life but what matters to you most.
- Coaching will help you find what is really important to you and what would give you most joy and satisfaction and this opens you to greater possibilities for your life.
- Through coaching you will learn how to use your body and mind’s resources to harness your own inner strength. You will develop the courage and desire to transform your life and set goals that really inspire you and help you achieve what you truly want.
- Setting goals provides a vital source of energy and identifying what you need and want empowers you to let go of the illusion of helplessness.
Life is a time limited experience
Until we brush up against our own mortality most of us assume there will always be time to seek happiness and fulfil our dreams and desires. Having a life threatening illness cures us of this.
“Learn as if you were going to live forever. Live as if you were going to die tomorrow.”
~ Mahatma Gandhi
